ANNUAL FEAST OF NARAVI PARISH CELEBRATED ON JAN 13TH 2024
Naravi jan 13th 2024 :The Annual Feast of St Antony was celebrated with great devotion and fervor at St Antony Church in Naravi, Belthangadi, India, in June 2024. The feast began with a beautiful devotional band leading the procession, with participants holding the cross, followed by altar boys and liturgy readers. Neighboring priests also took part in the celebration.
In his homily, Rev. Fr Walter D'Mello, Vicar of the Belthangady Deanery, highlighted the exemplary life of St. Antony, emphasizing his virtues of charity, humility, and interfaith harmony. He urged the congregation to emulate the saint's values and strive to make a positive impact on the world.
The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by the melodious singing of the parish choir and the Naravi church band, accompanied by colorful decorations adorning the church. A candle stall was set up by the Gerosa Convent sisters to add to the ambiance. Additionally, the ICYM team distributed food to the homes of sick parishioners.
In the absence of our parish priest, Rev. Fr Valerian Fernandes, our Principal, Rev.Dr Alwin Serrao, expressed gratitude to the Vicar of the Belthangady Deanery and all the neighboring priests present for this annual feast celebration mass. He also thanked everyone who contributed to making the day beautiful and blessed and wished everyone St Antony's blessings.
The Annual Feast of St Antony holds significant importance for the Naravi community, bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate their patron saint and renew their faith. The festivities serve as a reminder of St Antony's message of love, compassion, and service to humanity. Finally, all parishioners gathered early in the morning to prepare food together, ensuring that everyone had a meal before departing.
