Elders’ Day Jubilee at St. Antony Church, Naravi
On 28th September 2025, St. Antony Church, Naravi, joyfully celebrated the Elders’ Day Jubilee, an event organized by the Commission for Family and the St. Vincent de Paul (S.V.P.) unit. The day was dedicated to honoring and appreciating the elders of the parish for their wisdom, guidance, and contribution to faith and family life.
The celebration began with a photo session of all elders along with parish priest Rev. Fr. Jerome D’Souza, Rev. Fr. Rupesh Tauro, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council Mr. Sanjay Miranda, Secretary Mrs. Eugine Rodrigues, S.V.P. President Mr. Vincent Rodrigues, Commission for Family President Mr. Sunil D’Souza, and the nine ward heads.
At 11:00 a.m., a special Holy Mass for the elders was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jerome D’Souza, praying for their health and well-being. Following the Mass, everyone gathered at the church mini hall, where more than 80 elders participated in the program.
The stage program began with a prayer led by Mrs. Nishma and Mrs. Juliana, followed by the lamp-lighting ceremony. Before the prayer song, the dignitaries were welcomed to the stage. Mr. Sanjay Miranda extended a warm welcome to all the guests and parishioners. A touching sharing was given by Mrs. Marceline, who spoke about her experiences of aged life, which inspired everyone present. Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Jerome D’Souza addressed the elders with heartfelt words, highlighting the importance of health and the blessings elders bring to families.
The program was made lively with songs and a graceful dance performance by the elders. The Master of Ceremony, Mr. Vincent Rodrigues, conducted several games, filling the atmosphere with joy and laughter. Winners were honored with prizes, and all elders received beautiful gifts as a token of love and gratitude.
The gathering was blessed with the presence of Sr. Cristine from Gerosa Convent, who invoked God’s blessings before the fellowship meal. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Sunil D’Souza. Finally, all the elders shared a joyful lunch together, cherishing a day filled with love, respect, and togetherness.
The Elders’ Day Jubilee at St. Antony Church, Naravi, was a meaningful reminder that our elders are the roots of our families and a precious gift to the parish.
