Nativity of Mother Mary Celebrated at St. Antony Church, Naravi
Naravi, Sept 8, 2025: The parish of St. Antony Church, Naravi, joyfully celebrated the Feast of the Nativity of Mother Mary, also known as Monthi Fest. The celebration began with the blessing of the first corn (Novem) by Rev. Fr Jerome D’Souza, Parish Priest. Following this, the children offered flowers to Mother Mary with devotion.
A solemn festive Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr Jerome D’Souza, together with Rev. Fr Rupesh Tauro and Rev. Fr Sunil Carnelio . During the Mass, the Word of God was read by Rev. Fr Rupesh Tauro, who also delivered the homily. He emphasized four important aspects of the feast:
1. The importance of the birth of Mother Mary,
2. The day dedicated to the girl child,
3. Our responsibility towards protecting and saving Mother Earth,
4. The feast of family, symbolized by sharing the new corn together.
After the Mass, the blessed corn was distributed to all families, while the children received sugarcane as a token of joy. The celebration was filled with devotion, happiness, and unity, as parishioners returned home carrying blessings and festive joy.
