Palm Sunday Celebration at St. Antony Church, Naravi

Palm Sunday, marking the beginning of Holy Week, was solemnly observed at St. Antony Church, Naravi, on 13 April 2025. The celebration commenced at 8:00 AM with a short prayer service and Gospel reading at the St. Paul English Medium School grounds. Blessed palms were distributed to the faithful, who then walked in a reverent procession to the church, symbolically reenacting Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Valerian Fernandes, former priest of St. Antony Church, and Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, Principal of St. Antony College, Naravi. Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Jerome Dsouza expressed heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Valerian and Fr. Alwin for their presence and for celebrating the Eucharist with the community.

The sight of blessed palms held high by the faithful brought to life the spirit of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, making it a spiritually enriching and memorable start to Holy Week.
