On July 7th, 2024, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ward celebrated their ward feast with great enthusiasm at the St Antony Church mini hall. The program commenced with a heartfelt group prayer song led by Mrs. Lona D'Silva. Following the invocation, a warm welcome was extended to the distinguished guests: Rev. Dr Alwin Serrao (Principal), Mr. Sunil D'Souza (Convenor of the Pastoral Commission), Mr. Ambroz (President of the Catholic Sabha Naravi Unit), and all nine ward Gurkars. The new ward Gurkar, Mr. Steevan Fernandes, presented a rose as a welcome to the guests as well as to each of the ward Gurkars..
Rev. Dr Alwin Serrao then delivered an inspiring talk, followed by a thoughtful address from Mr. Sunil D'Souza. Mrs. Eugine Fernandes presented the yearly report with clarity and precision. A special moment of gratitude and honor was dedicated to Mr. Gregory Miranda, the former Gurkar, who faithfully served the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ward for 10 years.
The festivities continued with a delightful game organized by Mrs. Lona D'Silva, bringing joy to all participants, and prizes were awarded to the winners. Mrs. Eugine Rodrigues offered a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging everyone's contributions. Mr. Jovel Naravi skillfully managed the event as the master of ceremonies.
Approximately 65 people attended the celebration, all of whom departed with smiles, having enjoyed tea and snacks together. The event beautifully showcased the strong sense of community and togetherness within the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ward.
